A raw and psychologically gripping close-up portrait of Christ during the Passion. The artist masterfully captures the immense physical pain and emotional weight of the journey to Calvary through the vivid details of the crown of thorns and streaming blood. Intriguingly, the wooden cross is inscribed with psychiatric diagnostic codes (such as F40.1, F40.2, F40.8 representing various phobias and anxieties), conceptually bridging Christ’s historical suffering with the modern, invisible weights of human psychological suffering and mental anguish.

This painting is part of the acclaimed Christological cycle from the “Holy Canvas” exhibition by academic painter Nina Bajrić Blažeković.
